Today there are many ways to celebrate the life which was lived and begin to adjust to the death which has occurred. Memorial services and receptions can be simplified versions of traditional services, or may be designed as something unique.

There are no absolute standards for non-traditional service. We encourage and help you to be as imaginative as you would like. An experienced funeral director should be willing to help you explore the alternatives which are best for your family. If a funeral director does not show willingness to be flexible and an eagerness to listen to your needs, then you should interview other firms.

Pictures of the deceased, memorabilia from his or her life, hobby items or mementos may be brought to the place of gathering as a way of focusing on the person being remembered.
